Gautam Buddh Nagar police have registered an FIR against the managing director and three other senior officials of Jaypee Group, who were alleged for duping an investor. "Based on a complaint filed by Ghaziabad resident Nikhil Chandel at Dankaur police station, a cheating case has been registered against the firm's managing director Manoj Gaur, joint managing director Sameer Gaur, senior chief manager Rajiv Talwar and chief manager Manoj" said Rajpal Tomar, SHO, Dankaur police station. According to the complaint, Chandel had in 2013 booked a flat in Jaypee Group's 'Sports City' project and the builder had promised to give possession in three years. Chandel said that on completion of the deadline, he visited the project site and found that the builder had not even started construction work. The complainant then approached the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), which told him that the builder is yet to get the layout of the housing project sanctioned. Following this, Chandel complained about it in a tweet to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and later filed a complaint the police station. Chandel is not the only one suffering due to the negligence of Jaypee Group. Several other home buyers had staged a protest against the realty major last week outside its office in Noida's Sector-128. They have alleged that they have paid 90 percent of the total cost of the flat to the builder, but the flats are not yet in a condition to be move into. Jaypee Group is allegedly been keeping construction work stagnant over many years and delaying delivery of flats. "Even after paying over a crore rupees, we are not getting our flats delivered. The builder promised us to hand over the keys by 2010 and even seven years after their commitment, the project nowhere seems to be completed," said one of the protesters. The protesters also tried to meet the directors and senior management officials, but security personnel did not allow them to enter. The protesters demanded for justice and arrest of the officials.
